Hermès Sells $91,500 Shirt—See the Pricey Top!

by Rose Curiel Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 4:10 PM PDT

PPS Worldwide/ZUMApress.com; the Awl

Ever wonder what a $91,500 T-shirt looks like?

Well, wonder no more, because the designers at Hermès have made one and are currently hawking it at their Madison Avenue men's store.

Gwyneth Paltrow shows how to update your spring wardrobe-with $450,000 worth of products

That's right, the folks over at The Awl peeped the pricey top among the racks of luxury goods at the New York boutique. And while we know the French fashion house as the brand behind the oh-so-coveted Birkin bag, just what exactly makes the T-shirt so astronomically expensive?

As you might have guessed, this isn't a regular ol' cotton tee. Instead, the crewneck top, which is part of Hermès' spring 2013 menswear collection is stitched together from ultra-expensive crocodile leather. While it's definitely on trend for the season, we're pretty sure you can find a more affordable take on the style.

What do you think? Worth the price or a total, well, croc? Sound off in the comments!

Life-Size Courtney Stodden Wall Art Is Now Available (Yes, Really)

by Bruna Nessif and Marcus Mulick Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 8:30 PM PDT

theblownup.com

Now you can have Courtney Stodden in your room all the time. Make that four rooms!

Doug Hutchison's 18-year-old wife has teamed up with TheBlownUp.com on four life-size pieces of wall art—featuring Stodden in either sportswear, swimwear, fantasy or lingerie mode—for fans to enjoy.

"I think the pictures turned out really hot," Stodden exclusively tells E! News. "I did them because I wanted to be life-size on your walls."

Courtney Stodden was spotted on a dinner date with Chris Winter

 theblownup.com

TheBlownUp.com says that they're not focused on athletes like other companies that provide similar products, but instead "offer self-adhesive cutouts of the most amazing babes to ever bless us with their beauty."

And in this case, that would be Courtney.

Each image shows Stodden in a signature come-hither pose, her sky-high stilettos, bouncy blond locks and pouty expression used for the utmost seductive effect. (And, FYI, all of the images are très risqué, so...mothers, lock up your sons.)

The model herself tells us, "I did them more risqué because that's what I'm all about!"

Whitney Houston's Sister-in-Law Pat Houston: Police Called to House, Source Denies Suicide Scare Claims

by Bruna Nessif Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 5:39 PM PDT

Mark Sullivan/WireImage
Pat Houston is just stressed and tired.

There was a bit of miscommunication surrounding Whitney Houston's sister-in-law today, after she wrote a Facebook status that caused a few of her loved ones to become alarmed.

"Sometimes you just feel like giving up on life and its many challenges," she wrote. "And for the first time in my life…I'm tired…and I want to finally rest. I love you guys."

Bobby Brown only served one day of his 55-day jail sentence

Apparently, after reading her status update, some felt the need to contact the police, with reports claiming the cops were called for a suicide scare, but a source close to the family tells E! News that wasn't the case.

Once police and paramedics arrived to Houston's Alpharetta, Ga., home today, they found her in bed with a pill bottle next to her. She awoke and explained that she took pain medication for her back and fell asleep.

Houston was taken to the hospital just to be safe, but was released shortly afterward.

TV Ratings: Bravo's 'Married to Medicine' Scores Biggest Premiere Since 'Bethenny'

Bravo scored Sunday night with its latest original series. Married to Medicine brought in 1.9 million viewers during its premiere outing.

That's the highest number for a Bravo series launch since Bethenny Getting Married in 2010 and the most-watched premiere ever for a non-spinoff.

Married to Medicine, which follows six women either practicing medicine or involved with doctors, had The Real Housewives of Atlanta as a lead-in. The Georgia capital also serves as the setting for Medicine.

In the targeted adults 18-49 demographic, Married to Medicine pulled in 1.2 million viewers. The series comes to Bravo from FremantleMedia North America. It was developed by Purveyors of Pop with Matt Anderson, Nate Green and Maty Buss all serving as executive producers.

'American Idol': Katharine McPhee, OneRepublic to Perform on Results Show (Exclusive)

Thursday night's American Idol results show is sure to be a, ahem, smash as season five runner-up Katharine McPhee returns to the Fox show for a special performance with OneRepublic.

McPhee will lend guest vocals to the group's latest single, "If I Lose Myself," which appears on OneRepublic's new album, Native (out March 26).

It's McPhee's second collaboration with the band's frontman Ryan Tedder. The two shared screen time last season on an episode of NBC's Smash, which featured the song "Touch Me," written specifically for the series star and Idol alum.

In fact, Tedder is becoming somewhat of an Idol MVP, having penned and produced songs for Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks.

The band's Idol appearance is one of three major TV bookings the week of release. Among them: Good Morning America on Tuesday and Rachael Ray on Friday.

Also appearing on Thursday night's Idol is season 11 favorite Colton Dixon, who told The Hollywood Reporter last week that he wants to shake Keith Urban's hand when he returns. "It's coming up so fast," Dixon said.

Indeed, tune in March 28 for all the musical action.

Breaking Bad Stolen Script: Bryan Cranston's 911 Call Released—Listen Now!

by Bruna Nessif Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 4:31 PM PDT

Ursula Coyote/AMC

Bryan Cranston is a very calm man when the you-know-what hits the fan.

E! News has obtained the Breaking Bad actor's 911 call from December when his car was broken into—and the show script was stolen—in New Mexico, and regardless of the fact that the passenger seat window was bashed in and his stuff was gone, Cranston was very cool and collected.

At least, that's how it seemed over the phone.

Bryan Cranston's alleged car thief taken into custody

"I need to report a breaking and entering into my automobile," he told the dispatcher, and then informed them that the incident occurred in Sandia Crest "way up top of the hill...it happened an hour ago."

He added, "They broke my passenger window, and I'm on my way to Albuquerque Audi to turn it in," before asking if a police officer could meet him there and gave the dispatcher his information.

Luckily, E! News confirmed earlier today that police in Bernalillo County, N.M., took 29-year-old Xavier McAfee into custody on Friday on suspicion of one felony count of burglary.

Breaking Bad's Toyota Tercel is for sale

McAfee is accused of breaking into the actor's Audi last December and swiping a brown shoulder bag containing personal property, an iPad and a the TV script.

The bad news? The stolen Breaking Bad script has yet to be found (which means spoilers are sure to hit the Internet soon).

"We received info from a confidential informant that he knew of an individual having a script from Breaking Bad and wanted to know if anyone wanted to buy an iPad," Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department spokesman Aaron Williamson told E! News.

And as far as the info released about the show, Williamson says, "We don't know if it was one scene or the whole season, but I know they are trying to keep tight wraps on this final season and how it is going to end."

So many OMG moments on Breaking Bad— take a look!

Britney Spears Gets Waxed at Madame Tussauds in New York

by Bruna Nessif Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 8:44 PM PDT

Cindy Ord/Getty Images
Yep, this one definitely prompted a double-take.

Madame Tussauds is famous for creating extremely authentic wax statues, but their latest one of Britney Spears, which was unveiled in New York today, really is amazing.

The new figure featured a curly blond Brit-Brit in a sparkly silver dress with a plunging neckline, a take on her look at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

Britney Spears was thisclose to having a nip slip

That year, when she performed "Piece of Me" and won three awards, marked the true beginning of her comeback after a couple years of, um, lesser career moments.

This is the second wax Britney figure made by Madame Tussauds, with the first being a 2003 creation that showed Britney upside down mid pole-dance, wearing a green outfit similar to the one she wore during her famous, snake-handling performance of "I'm A Slave 4 U" at the 2001 VMAs.

What do you think of the new Brit-Brit wax figure? Sound off in the comments!

Dancing With the Stars Elimination Bombshell: You'll Be Disappointed!

by Natalie Finn Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 7:13 PM PDT

ABC/Adam Taylor

Dancing With the Stars is already down to 11. But Tuesday's elimination did not go according to plan.

Certain things were a given, such as Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy—safely in first place with a combined 50 over the course of two weeks and tonight's encore selection—being easily safe.

No need to hold your breath for Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough, either—that golden couple was ushered to safety early on.

Miss last night's performance show? Peep the highlights!

Sentiment overpowered statistics on several fronts, starting with injury-riddled Olympic gold-medalist Dorothy Hamill being welcomed back to dance another week despite scoring a dismal 15 on last night's jive.

But, in the end, it didn't matter that she was safe and boxer Victor Ortiz and Real Housewife Lisa Vanderpump were in the bottom two—because Dorothy was force to leave the competition, on the advice of her spinal surgeon.

"I have an injury that could be irreparable, and nerve damage, and it would be completely unfair for me to stay in this and have any of these people go home," the 56-year-old class act explained. "I can't do what I need to and, you know, the rest of life is physical, as an athlete, is important.

"I can't do him justice," Dorothy added, acknowledging partner Tristan MacManus, "and these are the most amazing people who want to be here. And it's not that I don't want to be here, but I wish I could give it my all, but I can't."

So, her shocking announcement meant an eleventh-hour reprieve for either Lisa or Victor, and both of them will rejoin Andy Dick, D.L. Hughley, Sean Lowe, Zendaya, Kellie, Aly Raisman, Jacoby Jones, Wynonna Judd and Ingo Rademacher next week in the ballroom.

Lone Ranger Drowning Death: Producer Fined for Workplace Safety Violations

by Natalie Finn Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 5:33 PM PDT

Youtube

A death on the set of The Lone Ranger last year has led to a citation for workplace-safety violations for the Disney film's production company.

Silver Bullet Productions must pay $61,445 in fines after the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) determined that the company behind the Johnny Depp-starring film allowed for a hazardous situation that resulted in the Sept. 21 drowning death of a diver who was attempting to clean a large water tank being used by the production, according to legal documents obtained by E! News.

Johnny Depp describes falling off a horse while shooting The Lone Ranger

Per Cal/OSHA's records, the 48-year-old diver was using scuba equipment to enhance water clarity for filming while  cleaning the 100-foot-by-80-foot-by-25-foot tank—located on a ranch in Acton, Calif.—with a vacuum.

View the citation documents

The regulatory agency states that the diver's "dive buddy" was absent for 10 minutes and, when he returned, he noticed that no bubbles were coming to the surface of the water. OSHA determined the accident was primarily caused by the diver working alone and not being given a prior medical examination to determine his fitness to dive.

For not having a designated "person in charge" at the dive location, failing to ensure that all divers were properly trained in CPR and other life-saving measures, not keeping up with the divers' required regular medical examinations and violating basic operational procedures—all deemed "serious" violations—Silver Bullet was fined $45,000.

The company was fined another $16,445 for six general violations: not providing documentation of safety and health training for all employees, not keeping records of each dive in the tank, not keeping proper records of all equipment maintenance, not maintaining a required Illness Prevention Program for hazard training, not developing a manual for diver safety and not properly maintaining the compressor for supplying air.

Deconstructing 'Bates Motel': Kerry Ehrin on the 'Psycho' Nod, Larger Mysteries

[Warning: This story contains spoilers from Monday's Bates Motel episode "Nice Town You Picked, Norma."]

Norma Bates' vision of the perfect town isn't all it was cracked up to be.

During Monday's second episode of A&E's Bates Motel, Norma (Vera Farmiga) learned that there's more to White Pine Bay than she originally thought when Deputy Shelby (Mike Vogel) warns her that the town runs on its own form of justice after Bradley's (Nicola Peltz) father is nearly burned to death.

Elsewhere, Norma's eldest son Dylan (Max Theriot) arrives at the Bates Motel for an awkward reunion with his mother -- whom he calls by her first name -- and half brother, Norman (Freddie Highmore), who is none too pleased to see him.

Meanwhile, Norman's new friend Emma (Olivia Cooke) begins looking into a mysterious book of drawings that he found in the motel as they realize that brutal story indeed might be true.

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with executive producer Kerry Ehrin to break down the episode in our weekly Deconstructing Bates Motel postmortem.

PHOTOS: Meet the Residents of A&E's 'Psycho' Prequel 'Bates Motel'

The Hollywood Reporter: Norma's oldest son, Dylan -- and Norman's half brother -- arrives. How will his presence impact Norma and Norman?
Kerry Ehrin: He gives us an opportunity to see this incredibly close bond that Norma and Norman have from the outside. Everybody can identify with a sibling who is not the favorite child. He's someone who calls them out a bit. Dylan has a bad history with his mom; clearly they just don't jibe and don't have same mind-set and don't understand each other. Like any kid, Dylan has a deep wanting for his mother's affection and approval, and that's constantly at odds inside of him and makes for a volatile and interesting relationship. He comes to the house with a very specific agenda about something he believes has taken place, and he's using it as leverage with his mom, which is heartbreaking. He in equal parts wants to destroy her and her to just love him.

THR: Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell) is investigating Norma's potential role in Keith Summers' disappearance. How will her relationship with Shelby factor in?
Ehrin: Shelby becomes a life raft for Norma. Norma is in this horrible situation where she killed this guy and they're trying to hide the body. In that scene with Shelby, Norma can pick up that he was attracted to her. So when she runs into him in town, she knows she can use it for something and might be able to get him on her side. Norma doesn't mean it in a devious way -- she's not super conscious of it; a lot of people use the opposite sex for that reason. It comes from that survivor place in her, and she's doing what she can to survive and get away with this.

THR: Shelby informs Norma that there's much more to White Pine Bay than it appears, with the town seemingly operating under its own "eye for an eye" code.
Ehrin: It's horrifying to Norma because the whole thesis of her life is that she's trying to change her life and create a beautiful one for her and Norman, where they can be happy together and run this motel without interference and be free of crazy people -- and you get the feeling that her relationship with her husband was troubled. She just wants her and Norman in this town, and she picks this idyllic town. And it's slowly revealed to her that this town, under the surface, has a very dark pocket. That's the last thing she wanted to hear.

THR: Should Norma be worried about more than Romero when it comes to justice for Summers?
Ehrin: She should definitely be worried about more than Romero. (Laughs) There's a lot going on in White Pine Bay. Keith Summers has lived his whole life there, and there are friends of his that will re-emerge. This is a new environment for her, and she's trying to keep her dream alive.
STORY: 'Bates Motel's' Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore on Hints of 'Psycho,' Norma and Norman's 'Wacky Love Story'

THR: Emma and Norman really click, and she plants a kiss on him. Was that just a random kiss, or might there be more there? Norman seemed pretty happy about it.
Ehrin: You'll see a lot of that. Their relationship evolves into a very interesting and real one for Norman, which he's never had with any girl besides his mother. There's a bit of triangle aspect with Bradley, who is a flashier type than Emma. Emma is very deep and thoughtful and has lived through so much with her illness that she's much more of an adult than anyone else her age. Norman is so guarded and Emma blows through that all the time, and he really needs that.

THR: Emma and Norman set out to find the shed featured in the stories in the book Norman found at the motel, and they find that as well as a pot field. Will they continue to explore that mystery? Will the shed's proximity to the pot field pose a problem for them?
Ehrin: Yes to all those questions! They're terrified when they get chased by the guards at the pot field, and their inclination is to feel that they got in over their heads and may back out a bit. What they believe happened to those girls -- they have no proof that it did -- is so powerful to Emma because of her own life-and-death situation that it's very hard for her to let go of it. She keeps reaching out to Norman and pulling him back in even though he has so much going on with his mother.

THR: Is it safe to say the drug industry is what's keeping White Pine Bay afloat?
Ehrin: Very much so. It's an interesting economy when towns run like this because everyone knows that that's how their economy is staying afloat yet they also know it's illegal and they somehow keep going. With Romero, in a town where lawlessness is the rule, there has to be one person who holds the law -- or the law as they see -- it in their hands. That's Romero. Is he moral, immoral, amoral? We don't know yet. He's a fascinating character, and we're peeling away layers of him. It's like the Old West, where there's lawlessness and the sheriff is the guy who runs the town by doing what he thinks is best -- and sometimes that involves not-so-civilized things.

THR: Dylan gets a shady job. Is he now part of the muscle at the pot fields?
Ehrin: Dylan is a badass but still so innocent. He's been running his whole life and chasing every relationship. He's down on his luck and sees this guy with all this money, and when you have no money your whole life and see that much on a regular guy … he innocently gets into that world, and he'll find out a lot about himself as he ventures further into it.

STORY: 'Bates Motel's' Carlton Cuse, Kerry Ehrin on the 'Psycho' Appeal, Lessons From 'Lost,' 'FNL'

THR: We caught a glimpse of Norman's dark side during his confrontation with Dylan. Has that dark side always been there, or is it brought out when someone threatens Norma?
Ehrin: It's always been there because of Norman's bond to his mother. Norman doesn't want to let anyone else in and that's become a bone of contention for Dylan. Dylan knows he can push Norman's buttons and be a shit to Norma. And in that kind of dysfunctional family situation, if you can't get affection, you get attention by pushing buttons, and that works because Norman completely loses it.

THR: In addition to the meat tenderizer, we also saw the origins of Norman's taxidermy fascination. Is that something we'll return to?
Ehrin: We'll absolutely return to it. I always wondered in Psycho how the heck Norman did that to his mother. Is making someone into a taxidermy object -- is that something he learned in school? (Laughs) How does someone learn how to do it? Taxidermy, for people who do it, it's a thing of art, and it's a really interesting world to explore with Norman.

THR: Norma changes for a date in front of Norman and insists there's nothing odd about it. Really?
Ehrin: It's odd until you have kids. You get so used to just doing everything with your kids when they're little and growing up. Then they get to teens, and Norman is older, but I really do understand it's comfort level that those two have with each other. They've been through so much together that we don't know about yet in their old life. They have this weird closeness and familiarity, and she has not fully acknowledged that she probably shouldn't be doing that in front of her son, although she does turn away from him, which is very cute. He does look away -- and then he starts looking back. It's awkward and disturbing to him, and at the same time he can't help looking.

STORY: 'Bates Motel' Using 'Psycho' as 'Inspiration' Rather Than Homage

THR: Norman was very interested in the "Tiger Tiger" poem he and Emma were prepping. How might we see him explore that dark side?
Ehrin: That poem is so perfectly applicable to him. What's interesting to the audience is to be able to know where Norman is going, but Norman doesn't know where Norman is going. It's this tragic moment in a way where Norman has this feeling deep inside himself that something isn't right with him. A poem like that causes him to have a feeling that he doesn't quite understand yet. He'll eventually figure that out. The point of our story is the winding path that eventually leads to that.

THR: The episode ends with the second cliffhanger in as many episodes -- with a man's body burning on the wharf. Is that the eye for an eye for the attack on Bradley's father? How will seeing that impact Norma?
Ehrin: Yep! That's justice in White Pine Bay. (Laughs) It's a crazy world and it's off the leash, which makes it fun, too. She's horrified, but the wonderful thing about Norma Bates is she's the master of resilience and denial and she'll compartmentalize that and put it away and continue on her pursuit of her dream.

'American Horror Story' Star Heads to USA's 'Royal Pains'

USA Network's Royal Pains is bulking up for its upcoming fifth season.

The summer drama has added American Horror Story's Frances Conroy for a multiple-episode arc, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Additionally, Smallville alum Callum Blue will recur and Stephen Bishop, Kevin Kilner and Liza Lapira will guest star on the series starring Mark Feuerstein.

PHOTOS: Broadcast TV's Returning Shows 2013-14

Conroy -- who is confirmed to return for the third season of FX's horror anthology American Horror Story -- will play Blythe Ballard, a member of the Hamptons "royalty" who lives in the estate next to Hank (Feuerstein) and Evan's (Paulo Costanzo) residence, Shadow Pond. After Hank treats Blythe for an arm injury, Evan becomes more determined than ever to land her as a client for HankMed, but she isn't easily swayed.
Blue will recur as Milos Kuester Ratenicz, Boris' (Campbell Scott) cousin. He's outgoing and warm and the anti-Boris, but the duo shares a mysterious genetic disease. Still suspicious about Boris' death, Hank turns to Milos for answers.

STORY: USA Renews 'Royal Pains,' 'White Collar,' 'Covert Affairs'

Bishop (Moneyball) will guest star as a minor league baseball player who seeks treatment from HankMed; Kilner (House of Cards) and Lapira (Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23) will play Tom and Erika Seelig, a couple in the Hamptons who turn to Hank after she experiences strange symptoms before a big fundraiser.

Conroy, repped by ICM Partners, is a five-time Emmy nominee for her work on (Six Feet Under and American Horror Story). She won a Golden Globe in 2001 for her role in the HBO critical darling. Blue, who is with Gersh and KLWGN, counts Secret Diary of a Call Girl and The Tudors among his credits.

Season five of Royal Pains, which will film on location in Georgia and Europe, will bow in the summer.

Scarlett Johannsson and Boyfriend Romain Dauriac Stroll Arm in Arm in NYC

by Alyssa Toomey Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 4:24 PM PDT

Elder Ordonez/INFphoto.com

Looks like Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac are still going strong!

The lovebirds were snapped strolling arm in arm on the streets of NYC yesterday as they walked back to their hotel after having lunch together.

ScarJo was barely recognizable in a puffy black jacket, workout leggings, Nike tennis shoes and a black beanie, while her Frech journalist beau wore athletic gear, a black knit hat and a jacket as well.

Scarlett and Romain's dinner date

The darling duo huddled close together as they braved the chilly NYC weather, looking like your average couple as they quietly tried to avoid the paps.

The 28-year-old actress and her hunky BF went public with their romance back in November, and since the pair debuted as a couple, they haven't been shy showing off their love for each other in the Big Apple.

Johansson's rep recently shot down engagement reports after ScarJo rocked a suspicious ring on that finger.

But hey, we wouldn't be surprised if these two decided to take the plunge!

Amanda Bynes' Bizarre Tweets and Odd Transformations: What's Wrong With Her?

by Leslie Gornstein Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 4:56 PM PDT

Twitter

Has anyone figured out what exactly is wrong with Amanda Bynes?
—Short T., via Twitter

Shorter answer: No. At least, not publicly, and certainly not via the "retired" actress herself.

Here's what we do know, though: When presented with a dossier of how she has been acting lately, psychiatrists tell me that Bynes's behavior could indicate a range of problems.

And here is a photo of Amanda Bynes's cleavage

For months, Bynes' life appears to be one long parade of oops and uh-oh. She's been charged with a DUI and a couple of hit-and-runs. (Those charges were later dismissed.) Last year, neighbors complained that her Southern California home was "dilapidated" and that she'd begun to isolate herself from the community.

She's disguised herself a Rita Ora (perhaps not on purpose); posted raunchy sexual fantasies about Drake on Twitter; debuted a painful-looking set of double piercings; appeared "zoned out" during a solo trip to a club; and scared her family enough that they really wish that she would move back home from New York, already.

So what does that all add up to? For the record; the answer could very well be "nothing." Stars are known for eccentric behavior.

But we also can't rule out illnesses, or even just a good old lack of sleep, psychiatrists say.

Got a question for us? Tweet us!

"What happens with a lot of these celebrities is that, first of all they are exhausted," clinical psychiatrist Mark Goulston tells me. "Their lives are exhausting. When you are sleep deprived, you get a little crazy."

A celebrity may also, sometimes, "self medicate," though it should be noted that Bynes has publicly denied that she drinks.

"She's been having this strange behavior on and off for approximately a year now," psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman notes to me. "If she sat down on my couch, I would have to sort out the diagnosis from a number of possibilities."

I tried to reach Bynes in a number of ways today, but her team, including her most recent agent of record, hasn't worked with her in a while. Until Bynes speaks for herself in depth, all her fans can do is hope she's all right...and that she isn't behind the wheel of a car.

All kinds of celebs have problems. And we have photographic evidence

CBS acquires 50% of TV Guide Network for $100 million - Los Angeles Times

Recording artist Cee Lo Green hangs out with the Muppets for a 2012 holiday special, "Cee Lo's Magic Moment," which ran on the TV Guide Network. (Erik Kabik / TV Guide Channel)

CBS Corp. has acquired a 50% stake in the TV Guide Network for about $100 million, giving the big broadcaster a larger toehold in cable television.

CBS said Tuesday it had entered into a joint venture with the independent film and television studio Lionsgate, which owns the other 50% of the channel also known as TVGN.  CBS bought out the stake held by One Equity Partners, an investment arm of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

The 32-year-old TVGN is widely distributed -- it is available in 80 million homes -- but it has stumbled attempting to create an identity after the conversion to digital channels that made the TV Guide channel's once useful rolling scroll of cable channel program schedules irrelevant.

Now cable subscribers can easily navigate an interactive channel guide by tapping a button on their remote controls.

The channel had been on the block for more than a year. Lionsgate and One Equity Partners had hoped to sell the outlet for $350 million.

Lionsgate paid $255 million to acquire the channel four years ago. It later sold 49% to One Equity Partners.

In recent years, the channel acquired rerun rights to shows including HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and Showtime's "Weeds," which Lionsgate produces. It has not achieved success in original programming.

The website TVGuide.com was included in the deal.

CBS said its new partnership would combine CBS programming, production capabilities and marketing muscle with Lionsgate’s resources in motion pictures and television. CBS, which is controlled by Sumner Redstone, also owns the Showtime premium networks and CBS College Sports Network.

In recent months, CBS has been making strategic alignments with owners of small cable channels. Last month, it took a minority stake in Mark Cuban's music and live events channel AXS. CBS did not extend any cash in that transaction.

I cross-dress but I want a girlfriend - Mirror.co.uk

26 Mar 2013 22:00

I love to dress as my two alter egos and love all the things that go with being a woman
Dear Coleen,

I’m an 18-year-old boy and unlike any other boy I know. I’m depressed because of one thing: I’m transgender and have been for many years.

I love to dress as my two alter egos and love all the things that go with being a woman – wearing make-up and high heels and so on.

What’s really getting me down is that I can’t get a girlfriend, which is what I want.

Cross-dressing has ended relationships with girls in the past, so I’ve tried not to dress as a woman and to act more like a boy, but it just depresses me more because my ultimate dream is to be a woman.

To confuse things further, I worry about if I could actually be bisexual because I do get feelings for boys when I dress as a girl.

I’m hoping that one day I can have a sex change so I can be a woman for ever but don’t feel I can talk to my family because they are anti-cross-dressing, gay etc.

I’m so worried that the cross-dressing will stop me from having relationships with girls because they think I’m a weird person and I’m also worried that I won’t be able to get my dream job as a magician because of it. Please help – I’m really confused.

Coleen says..

Wow, slow down! You’ve taken a lot on board here and the main thing you need to focus on is yourself and the big decisions you’re facing, rather than finding a girlfriend or boyfriend.

By throwing a relationship into the mix you will confuse things further and make your life more complicated.

Give yourself some time to work out what it is you want. Although you know you’d eventually like to be a woman, it sounds like you’re still confused sexually. I believe when you are living as the person you truly want to be, that’s the time to think about serious relationships.

You’re only 18 and have plenty of time to meet partners.

When you meet someone you’re attracted to, the thing is always to be open and honest from the word go.

Now you’ve accepted who you are, it would be sad if you felt you had to have a girlfriend or boyfriend.

I think it’s very brave of you to speak out and admire you for not wanting to spend your whole life living a lie.

It is important not to deal with these issues on your own, though. It would be helpful for you to talk to other teens going through the same. Get in touch with Mermaids, a charity that supports young people with gender identity issues and their families (020 8123 4819, mermaidsuk.org.uk).

This would also be beneficial for your parents to help them understand but it might be worth speaking to other teens first to find out how they coped with telling their families. I’m sure if your parents do have a negative attitude, as you’ve suggested, it’s out of ignorance and not because they don’t love you.

Take it one step at a time – good luck.

'The Voice' Gamble Pays Off With New Coaches Shakira, Usher (Analysis)

NBC is looking to double-down on its biggest non-sports ratings hit The Voice by introducing some new blood to its coaching lineup. For this season (at least), Usher and Shakira will be filling in for Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera as they pursue their own projects, but there was a network nervousness over how these new coaches might work with veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Spectacularly, it turns out. Shakira and Usher energize the show and seem to do the same for Shelton and Levine, both of whom have mentored competition winners in the past. The new coaches are playing the part of upstarts, getting playfully ribbed by the veterans while also, as Shakira says over and over, potentially benefiting from "beginners luck." Of course, Usher has also had success in mentoring one singer who's done alright for himself outside of The Voice … Justin Bieber.

From the start, both new coaches established their personalities (and their bribery techniques). Shakira (the "pregnant, hormonal Colombian") typically played the "I'm the only female here" card to suggest better and more nuanced understanding of those she will mentor (Shelton countered at one point with "Well, I have a wife in the business," to which Levine shot back, "Blake just said he has a wife, so, because you are sisters, you're just like him. What?")

Whereas Shakira is serious and passionate, Usher is cool and flirty, often sitting with one leg up in a kind of "come hither" position that the other coaches make fun of, though both new coaches bring a glamor and sexiness to the show that infuses it with a sleek energy.

Among the contestants, when Shelton is in the mix, he seems to be the most popular (possibly because of his winning touch), but Usher and Shakira also get a lot of positive attention from contestants and the crowd. Levine is so conservative in his approach in the first part of the this two-part premiere he doesn't get much into the competition of convincing the singers to choose him over his cohorts, which is when the claws come out (literally -- Levine says to one singer, "I'm going to claw everyone's face off until you realize I should be your coach.")

The banter among the coaches shows a lot of genuine good will, though whether this is just a honeymoon period or not remains to be seen. While Levine and Shelton seem the most comfortable bantering with each other, there's no denying that the new coaches have been accepted into their ranks. Levine is still the funniest, with the sharpest barbs, but Shakira shows no hesitation in going up against him. As Shelton goads at one point early in the show, "She just ripped your ass wide open!"

Series like The Voice don't need to try too hard to get an audience -- they're inherently fun and easy to get drawn into, but the judges or coaches do matter when it comes to keeping some skeptical viewers (like this one) early on. But NBC appears to have kept a good thing going, backing the right players in this game.

Celebrity Apprentice's Omarosa: I'm Suing La Toya Jackson Over Michael Clarke Duncan Crack

by Natalie Finn Tue., Mar. 26, 2013 8:08 PM PDT

NBC
The most shocking boardroom decision ever made on Celebrity Apprentice may result in a lawsuit.

After La Toya Jackson was fired on the show's March 17 episode, she cracked during her complimentary cab ride away from Donald Trump's lair that ex-teammate Omarosa had probably "pulled the plug" on fiancé Michael Clarke Duncan. (The actor died in September, two months after suffering a major heart attack.)

And that's not sitting well with the woman who's said to be the nastiest reality-TV villain of all time.

Miss La Toya vs. Omarosa on Celebrity Apprentice? Read our recap

"She said really nasty things about Michael. She said 'he had a heart attack and I know that she caused it. He was on life support and she went and pulled the plug,'" Omarosa said this morning on The Howard Stern Show when asked why she was planning to sue La Toya.

Howard questioned whether La Toya's comments were actionable or not, but Omarosa said that they were in this case because the Jackson family sister had "repeated it subsequently" on various talk shows since shooting Celebrity Apprentice back in October.

"I mean, do you really want people to think that you harmed the person that you loved?" Omarosa asked, noting that she would be suing for emotional distress, for starters.

Asked "for the record" by Howard if she had indeed "pulled the plug," Omarosa replied, "God no, I loved that man...She's sick and demented. The lawsuit is going forward. We gave her the time to retract it and now we'll both be spending money on lawyers."

Contacted by E! News for comment, La Toya's rep said they had no knowledge of any such lawsuit.

Omarosa also said today that her camp had received a letter from La Toya's lawyers saying that her comments were "the producers' fault."
